Description:
Peroxiredoxin 6 is also known as PRX, p29 or AOP2. The protein encoded by the PRDX6 gene is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox regulation of the cell; it can reduce H(2)O(2) and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. Peroxiredoxin 6 may play a role in the regulation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury.
Storage:
After reconstitution, the Peroxiredoxin 6 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
